Ya, the background color was just an observation and not a big deal, the not processing of markdown code correctly is the thing that really stuck out.
I was able to setup a Golos account, it was a bit sketchy, but I did respond within 30 seconds of me sending the text message with the code.
After that I put my account name, email etc It did throw an error after waiting abotu 2 minutes. But I opened new window and found my account was actually created. So it seems they have similar "network broadcast" issues Steemit was having. (maybe on new account with low golos power?)
