Charging your phone with the power of a plant?

How strange would it be to charge your phone with the help of a plant? It is now possible!

We all want to have alternative power solutions for everything. So we have now the solar panels and the earth warmth from deep in the ground. But the Dutch have found a alternative power source, and offcourse it has something to do with the flowers....

When we do the simple explanation it will sound like this. A plant has roots, and in this roots there are several chemical processes. When the plant feeds itselfs with the moleculs in the ground there is a chemical reaction. This has also to do with the water that is in the ground. We can save this chemical reactions and change it in to power! What happends next is that you have a very small amount of power in the plantpot. When we use it we could have around the 5.0 volt per day. That could help to charge your phone.

The Dutch guys are still working on optimimalising the power supplies because 5.0 Volt isn't that much. It still depends how big the plant is and how many roots it has.
