Dont let governments ruin our planet!

Well Mr Trump is at it again! Whether you love him or loath him, you can certainly be sure he will be grabbing headlines again next week.

Governments and nations are essentially selfish, inward looking, self perpetuating entities, that try to work with others, but as we see regularly fail to acheive anything near to it; look at the UK leaving the EU, Syria, etc.

So when humanity is faced with a truly global problem, how do you work on that? You get all governments to agree, of course... well that is a similar task to herding cats, and as we have seen the Paris Accord has amazingly lasted a whole 2 years! That is actually a huge acheivement, never before have so many nations actually agreed.

So what are we to do when faced with governments, who really just are never going to be able to take concerted action, versus a problem of global magnitude that just needs action to be taken? We stop relying on government to do it for us. We take the decisions into our own hands, and we let governments get on with being nasty little children.

Ok thats easy to say, but practically what can we do to help with climate change? You can go around your home, change light bulbs, adjust the heating/air con by one degree, turn off the TV when you arent watching it and dont put more water in the kettle than you really need. You know the drill, and thats the problem, we tried all this before, and it works and is working, but we know its not enough.

If you really want to get serious, install solar photovoltaic panels on your home, easy! Whats that you say, they are expensive? Well thats true, the financial outlay is still quite high, but its coming down all the time, and the government will give you incentives wont they? Will they, though? We see in multiple nations governments trying to scale back or cut altogether support of renewable energy, UK government have, Spain are, now Mr Trump works his magic...

So how do we the people of planet Earth take control of this issue without governments, who we just cant rely on to do it for us? Crypto-currency baby!
