Possible ways to contribute in keeping our streets clean in Cameroon midst the on-going Anglophone crisis.

in #environment5 years ago

The streets of our cities in the respective Anglophone cities of Cameroon ( being Bamenda, Buea and Kumba) are being filled up with unpleasant pile of dirt that continuous constitute a nuisance to the ever increasing urban population due to increasing conflicts in rural communities of Cameroon and in areas where food is been sold, it has made food to loose its taste. Amidst the on-going conflict, our streets are increasingly dirty but we can contribute in keeping them safe in the following ways;

  • Firstly, we need to greatly contribute to solving this situation by helping to sort biodegradable waste from non-biodegradable from domestic sources. This is because most of this waste is generated from our homes, and this will make us to use them in composting organic manure.

  • Equally we need to take interest in refusing to use plastics of all sorts as they great pose a threat to natural environment and contributing to its degradable state. They actually constitute a great nuisance to our beautiful environment and as such prompt actions needs to be taken and promptly too.
  • Plastic waste should either be re-used or recycled, as this will great reduce its production as well its disposal on the environment which greatly affect our health, agricultural lands, our water sources through its improper disposal.

  • We need to constantly educate ourselves as well as as be conscious with what will happen to our environment if we continue with our negative practice on it.

    It is glaring that the climate change we are scared of is very much stirring us in our faces and is just by our door steps and will affect all persons in all walks of life, as such we need a collective effort in taking actions against this change, and the time to act is now. This waste in our streets greatly destroys the beauty of our beloved streets, and something needs to be produced and fast.

Oh wow, that is a huge pile of dirt and so much on the streets - good that you try to make people aware of the hazards for the environment :)

Domestic waste is totally becoming a street nuisance to us and if proper actions are not taken, it will soon have all of us drawn in them.

Thanks very much for being there always my dear friend, hope we have the opportunity to meet out of here.

These Cities were at one point or the other ranked as the cleanest cities in Cameroon.
