Sorry Musk fans, there's no such thing as sustainable batteries.

All you Tesla/Musk fans need to stop calling your EVs "Green" or "Sustainable" technology. Lithium batteries only get "economical" battery life through the use of Nickel and Cobalt chemistry; and the mining and refining of Nickel, Cobalt and the massive amounts of Copper for those high performance motors all leave huge piles of toxic chemicals - and typically a large exploited and poisoned workforce.

We can be grateful that Indonesia has stopped issuing permits for dumping the toxic waste into the ocean, but as long as you keep buying battery powered TOYS, the poison has to go somewhere.

I also point out again, the global reserves of Nickel and Cobalt are not sufficient to replace the passenger cars of North America, so EVs are an elitist solution.

The ONLY green solution: walk, bicycle, and rail or tube powered electric mass transport. Personal motor vehicles an environmental disaster and bad for your health as well. We need to be pumping our muscles to get around, not sitting.
