With Texas still flooded from the most recent hurricane, Florida gears up for an even bigger storm. Governor Rick Scott has Florida under a state of emergency, while Hurricane Irma is moving at 13 mph with 140 mph winds (gusts over 200). Most Floridians are taking caution and prepping for the storm.
The Problem at Hand:
The biggest problem the state of Florida has to face is getting supplies to their citizens. Most of the supplies are being transferred to Texas because of Hurricane Harvey. This is putting a rush on everything from gas, water, propane, plywood, generators, batteries, ect.
Who has the problem:
I think the supplier has the problem if they cannot get the supplies to their customers. They are missing out of key revenues, and letting down their customers in a time of need.

Description of Article:
This is the textbook example of entrepreneur in our class. In December 1993, Anhthu Huynh’s family fled Vietnam with the assistance of the Humanitarian Operation. She was a refugee, one of the millions we have around this beautiful country today. Anhthu Huynh has been a mentor to the society. She started a nail salon that employees over 14 people and serves over 60 customers a day. Her key to success is being friendly.
The Problem at Hand:
Growing her company is only done with word of mouth. That is why she needs the best associates working with her. The stores branding is on every employees face. The other problem is continually renovating to make the experience better.
Who has the problem:
The owner of the salon, Anhthu Huynh, has this problem.

Description of Article:
Interest rates are still at historically low levels, and mortgage companies are working double time to write new loans or refinance homes. Adjustable rate mortgages is a mortgage that fluctuates with the market. This is good if you think the market is going down, bad if you think it is going up.
The Problem at Hand:
People are unaware how mortgages and finances work. They get tied up in bad loans and spend a lifetime paying them off.
Who has the problem:
The consumer has this problem. Mortage and Title companies love this problem!

Doctor sentenced to one year for health care fraud
Description of Article:
A Gainesville doctor was charged with over 162 counts of fraud for false billing and using drugs not approved in the United States. The doctor was charged with 1 year in prison, with $1.13 million in fines.
The Problem at Hand:
Doctors and professionals are able to get away with this stuff. I know he was “punished”, but I think he got off pretty easy. I think he needs to take Business Law again!
Who has the problem:
The customers that used his service, and also the doctor that is now in jail…Not prison.

Title of Article:
Why SpaceX is winning more U.S. Air Force contracts
Description of Article:
I have been watching this happen more, and more often. SpaceX is eating the lunch of the US Air Force and NASA. It is hard to take a government job, when the pay and other incentives are better at SpaceX. Private sector jobs, like SpaceX, give their employees more creative thinking jobs then the government sector.
The Problem at Hand:
The private sector is quickly taking over the government sector jobs. This is a good thing if the private sector can do the job better like SpaceX is doing.
Who has the problem:
The government needs to deal with this. They have too much “Fat” around some of their programs.
