ENTREPRENEURIAL FIRE? HAVE YOU MAINTAINED YOURS LATELY?

I DO HEAR THIS QUESTION A LOT…
HOW DO YOU AVOID BURNOUT?
It is so easily done, we get so excited working on our dreams that we get this boost of energy and motivation. We don’t care about nothing else except for giving our best and moving forward our dream business. Often this means working all day in your pajamas, because what a waste of time would be showering and getting dressed, eating bowl of cereals all day long and we totally disregard our loved ones. We are high on the entrepreneurial journey, momentum needs to be maintained and things need to be accomplished! Since we do it for ourselves we really make sure each single detail is perfect. Each day passes by at a blink of an eye.
In no time we look pale, we have dark circles around the eyes, our personal relationships are far off being in good shape, and we starting to feel unwell..
If this is where you are at - you must stop, now. Literally this second, unless you have a deadline that is a matter of life and death. If no one is going to die, go and have a shower or relaxing bath and, do nothing for the rest of the day. You may find this challenging and if sitting still will start driving you crazy do something active, go for a walk, or ride a bike. But please do mentally disconnect. Then have an early night and unless you really have to, don’t set your alarm. It’s OK to sleep in and reset yourself. Hopefully 24 hrs will help, but its OK to take longer.
Once you have reset, you will need to come up with a plan on how to carry on, as this is not sustainable. There are times in every entrepreneur life when this crazy routine takes place. This should never go past a couple of days at a time and once it's finished a good reset is a must. If you are here to make it, you are here for a long ride. The only way you will get where you want to be is by putting your well being first. You need to be in a good enough form to last the whole length of this marathon.
THE FOLLOWING TIPS SHOULD HELP YOU MAINTAIN FEELING SHARP AND SANE:
•Make sure you get into healthy sleeping habits. This is very personal, you know when you are at your best so apply this accordingly.
•Find sustainable daily physical activity. You don't have to workout every single day, a little walk will work just fine.
•Find 15 minutes a day where you do nothing. No phone, no computer, maybe a nice cup of herbal tea and some relaxing tunes.
•Meditation is a huge YES, even if it's 2 minutes a day. You can find your favorite form of it. If sitting in silence is not your cup of tea try something else. Adult coloring books are really great for this.
•Eat as clean and healthy as you possibly can. I don't know your personal dietary choices but sticking to clean and sugar free eating is the way forward.
•Ease off caffeine, try not to go above 1-2 cups a day. Too much coffee will affect your nervous system and during those anxious days, that we all experience, it will only make you worse and feel panicky.
•Be kind to yourself and celebrate every little win you accomplish.
