We feel the same way!
We dont have TV channels anymore, local or cable. We do have netflix, but even that has lost its appeal, and we are probably going to quit that soon.The kids like playing video games on the TV, but that's about it. I would much rather read a book. :)
It's interesting that you say about Netflix, "even that has lost its appeal". I think once you start to pull away from TV viewing, it's like any other addiction - you gradually lose the taste for it. When you give up sugar for a while and then go back to it, everything tastes too sweet, and it's similar with TV!
