What´s about "Smokey and the bandit" with Burt Reynolds from 1977. The movie car from Burt Reynolds (Pontiac Trans Am) was the most successful product placement in movie history as most buyers thought they could drive with this car like Burt Reynolds (a former stuntman) in that movie. But most of the buyers couldn´t copy the main car stunt from that movie and crashed their cars completely. The main stunt in that movie was to drive over a destroyed bridge which in reality would have crashed every car even when reaching the other side of the river because of gravity on the chassis of a normal car.
