The mind is a very powerful tool for creation, many of the films that we have seen throughout our lives are creations from the imagination of some genius writer. Fiction can equal reality or even overcome it.

We often ask ourselves: is it real?

It's surprising to know that many stories including the most outlandish are inspired by real life cases, this factor makes them more spooky. In this publication you will learn the real stories of some of the most famous movies in the history of horror movies.

This American film of the 60s is perhaps one of the greatest successes of horror movies, set in a motel located on a road in the middle of nowhere, where the protagonist Marion Crane, who has run away with money he stole suddenly.

The Bates Motel is always empty and is run by Norman Bates, a guy who seems to be very friendly and attentive to his customers.

This film is characterized for containing a lot of suspense and an exceptional cinematography for its time, considering the planes of shots that were used among other things.

History

The character of Norman Bates is inspired by a famous criminal named Ed Gein, also known as ''the butcher of Plainfield'', surprisingly the story of this man inspired more than one horror film, apart from Psycho also inspired The Texas Massacre.

Ed Gein grew up on a farm outside of Plainfield, Wisconsin, his family was dysfunctional, which contributed to his antisocial personality, his father George being characterized as an abusive alcoholic and his mother Augusta, an inveterate religious and misogynist, felt the need to take their two children away from incarnate sin (women).

The characteristics of a sociopath are formed from the upbringing that has been inculcated, the distance to social activity and diverted socialization influence more than the natural components that could mold this personality. Ed and his brother were subjected to beatings by both parents, who were never able to feel a bit of love for their own children.

The fascination with blood and slaughter was developed by the practices of livestock, living on a farm, this was a typical practice, in fact, was marked by the first time he witnessed how his parents killed a pig. In adolescence, Ed was fond of reading stories of murder and death, which led him to lose track of time and be totally immersed in torture stories.

The death of his mother, for whom he felt an almost incestuous love, unleashed that aggressive personality and started the murders, Ed preserved the remains of his mother and locked them in a room, to keep alive the illusion that she was still alive.

History

Throughout the history of horror movies we have witnessed stories of Ed Warren who was a demonologist and Lorraine Warren a clairvoyant, together they came to collect many paranormal stories with which today a lot of horror films have been inspired.

The Conjuring dates from a true story of a family recently moved to an old house, the house began to be stalked by a witch named Bathsheba, who lived in that house in the past and sacrificed her son to prove his love for Satan, before committing suicide the witch cursed her land and her house so that anyone who tried to inhabit her was cursed.

History

The real story dates back to 1869, in Key West, Florida, United States lived a boy named Robert Eugene Otto with his parents, the child received a gift from one of his servants, it is said that the gift came with bad intentions, this servant was a practitioner and devotee of black magic. A handmade doll in a sailor suit, stuffed with straw and sewn with wires, the boy decided to call the doll just like him, "Robert."

The boy's family did not know the origin of his servants and did not know what would await them. The doll Robert began to cause strange events, at night the parents of the child heard him talking to the doll. Some people claimed to see the doll lean out the window.

The boy claimed that Robert was alive, and was the culprit of things that happened in the house, for example, they always found objects from the house broken on the floor or moved to a different place than they were.

Robert's parents took the initiative to lock the strange doll in the attic of the house. Some time later, Robert as an adult inherited the house and returned to meet his beloved doll. From that moment on paranormal phenomena began to happen in the house, Robert's wife could not stand the presence of the doll.

Robert decided to return the doll to the attic due to all the strange events and also to calm his wife. After the death of Robert Gene Otto in 1972, his wife sold the house with everything and doll included, with the new family came a little girl of 10 years, who was thrilled to find the doll and included it in his collection of toys.

The doll Robert did not seem to like the new owner, the little girl woke up screaming and terrified, because she said that the doll was trying to kill her.

The Robert doll remains today in the Fort East Martello museum in Florida, and according to museum workers, it is said that it still moves by itself and that in the month of October it is more active. Another curiosity about the Robert doll is that it is said that you should ask permission to photograph it, otherwise you could fall a curse. In the room where the Robert doll remains, there are letters and photographs stuck on the walls, requests to lift the curses to the people who photographed him without permission.
