Good pay & benefits but the community is hard to work with. Curriculum changes yearly so teachers are constantly learning new things with the students.

Decent job, asset management and password resets. Pay is low but higher than DC public schools. Lots of repetitive repairs. Easier Job when your office is organized.

Nepotism and poor communication

A typical day consists of disrespectful children and leadership that caters to that behavior. For this to be not only a school I attended in the early 2000’s, it’s a horrible institution. There is zero accountability and support in this school system. I was elated that they did not renew my contract as I was already planning an exit plan! As much of an impact I’ve made on the kids I did have the pleasure of reaching they were what got me through my days. But if you are not blood relative , THEY WILL NEVER SUPPORT YOU and tear you down every chance it’s possible. Even the HR DEPARTMENT is clickish. They make decisions behind your back and never make the effort to have a conversation with you about it! Blindsided at every turn! It’s a word of mouth game there. Which was disgusting. I’m glad I left . Turn over rate at SE location at an all time high!
