RE: Nisekoi and The Nature of Harem Romantic Comedies

in #entertainment7 years ago

It is just the way things are with romcoms, there is not supposed to be any resolution to the romance in them. That is just how the genre is. It is more about the comedy than about the romance. Unfortunately, anime with proper resolutions to the romance are scarce, but it is all right. You just need to know what to expect from a certain genre.

I mean, one only has to look at the western RomCom movie situation to see that that is not true.

And before you say that it is for the Japanese animanga culture, then it is still not true. It's only happening because of a specific mercenary intent, which is to release unfinished RomCom manga adaptations as anime in order to get the anime viewers to then pick up the manga.

This situation is happening because RomCom anime tends to be a glorified ad to a running manga, not because it's "the nature of the genre."

Not like Nisekoi manga is any better in that regard. I noticed that all anime focuses more on the journey than the destination. Even with animes with proper endings, the character interactions and world building are more heavily focused on.
