i have watched this movie several times already and truthfully speaking it has been awfully gorgeous. i don,t if its a high time the Indians have upgraded from their love stories. believing in the happy endings they always make its just awfully impossible but with this one i managed to watch till the end.
inderlaal and saraswarti after abhimanyu stood her up during their marriage. she wept bitterly and ended up in bed with inder.
the story is all simple and Indian cliched but ends up capturing interests of many love story haters. the girl finally dies just after getting married to the man who has loved her for a very long time. she is very happy with her marriage but does not even get to be on a honeymoon. she is sick with cancer which she runs away for a moment for seclusion from everyone in her family and even inder. inder comes and find out she has cancer , he asks her to marry him but saru does not accept as she thinks its charity marriage. soon saru finds out that inder has been courting her ever since they met that is when she agrees to the marriage.
inder and saru on the night before their wedding she is showing him how beautiful her mehndi is and wishes that when she dies he will not put a wreath on her picture.
inder has always had problems with his father (a very renowned lawyer who left him in juvenile for eight years). he hates him also in the apartment he is hated for being a bad boy a disgrace to the indian community. he goes upto saru's father and removes the wreath over saru's picture and points a gun on him telling him that saru and he will get arried if he wants he will come but if not the wedding will also push through with or without him. he informs him that he will die for her daughter if he will put a wreath on her picture or kill also if anyone makes her sad after he marries her.
they always said that parents who say bad or good things in their view of disciplining their children, God always accepts their prayers or words. so in this movie the father declared his daughter as a dead person he even performed the girl's final rights. thus made it come true, was it a curse or coincidence that is what you have to find out for yourself. she died in the movie and the father was left regretting on the fact that he cursed his daughter and made her face the hard truth that she has to die. it was painful for him of course but he had dug his own grave.
