NEW ''LOST IN SPACE'' SERIES COMING IN MAY TO NETFLIXS...

OH WOW, I USE TO LOVE THIS SHOW, IT Still is a SY FI CULT FAVORITE. For those who are not up on the show, let me school you.

The series is Based on early '60s comic strip The Space Family Robinson, Lost in Space originally soared onto our television screens in 1965, charting the adventures of a family of space colonists whose spaceship veers dangerously off-course.

Since it wrapped in 1968, the original series has spawned spin-off novels, an animated pilot and a big-budget movie remake (though the less said about that Matt LeBlanc-starring monstrosity, the better).

Now, 50 years later, Netflix is planning a new live-action take – the first attempt since a John Woo-directed pilot failed to catch light for The WB in 2003.

Here's everything we know about the new Lost in Space – from an all-new cast to the status of that classic theme tune.

Lost in Space TV series: So what's happening?
It was announced in October 2014 that Legendary Television (The Expanse, Colony) was developing a new reboot of Lost in Space, with screenwriting duo Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless – known for The Last Witch Hunter and Gods of Egypt – hired to script the new series.

A little over a year later in November 2015, the project was sold to ol' money bags Netflix, with Neil Marshall (The Descent) directing the pilot episode and acting as an executive producer.

In June the following year, Netflix greenlit a full season, with vice president Cindy Holland telling Deadline: "The original series so deftly captured both drama and comedy, and that made it very appealing to a broad audience

Here's who'll be manning the spaceship Jupiter 2 in the revived series:

• Toby Stephens (Black Sails) as John Robinson, the expedition commander.

• Molly Parker (House of Cards) as Maureen Robinson, a fearless and brilliant aerospace engineer who makes the decision to bring her family to space, for a chance at a new life on a better world.

• Ignacio Serricchio as Don West, a roughneck smuggling luxury goods on the side who discovers in the Robinsons the family he never thought he would find.

• Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson, John and Maureen's eldest child.

• Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson, one of the Robinson children.

• Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson, the youngest Robinson child.

• Parker Posey as Dr Smith

Raza Jaffrey (Spooks, Homeland) will also recur as Victor – according to Deadline, "a well groomed, educated and officious man with a sense of entitlement."

Am really looking forward to seeing the out. Hopefully, they add the famous cliffhanger endings 'TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK, SAME TIME SAME CHANNEL
