Hubris syndrome, the disease of many rulers

This time I want to tell you about a topic that I found very important and share it with you, I think it is a common factor that we have observed in many of our rulers this is: the psychopathology of power or Hubris Syndrome, also called Hybris Syndrome. The term hubris comes from the Greek and refers to the excess and / or arrogance of people.

This syndrome occurs in subjects who are exercising power. It is very frequent particularly in the political environment, as well as in the work environment, military, religious and even within the family environment.
Although from the psychiatric point of view, this syndrome does not exist as such, these symptoms do occur and the reason is, that these people who have acquired power of any kind, lack the appropriate psychic conditions to manage it and end up behaving in a narcissistic way (excessive self-esteem) and arrogant (power in an abusive way). Then when the person finishes his power charge he can reach a depressive picture.

It is probably one of the disorders that we did not know, as such, but also the most common that we have witnessed, suffered and experienced many of the Latin countries, governed by characters they show; an excessive Pride, Excess of self-confidence that makes him impulsive and reckless, in addition to a feeling of superiority, believing irreplaceable and a total departure from the reality that lives his country.

In the case of my country Bolivia, unfortunately, we still have a president with these characteristics, who believes that being indigenous is more than others, he has taken the position of what he calls "imperialists" "rich or gringos", that is to say It has become what he criticized so much; He shows exaggerated confidence in what he does, because he knows he must get everything no matter at what price; apparently there is no one at his level who is capable of governing our country or its political line and much less of the opposition; Finally, everything that happens in the country simply decides to see it in its own way as the referendum on February 21 where more than 50% told him that he could not be reelected and he said: it was “a DO NOT go away”, totally out of the reality.

In the same way I imagine that it has happened in many other countries. But we ask ourselves, is there treatment for Hubris Syndrome?

Well, undoubtedly, these people need a cure and for that they need humility, reality, vanity, etc.
