Ávila Naked - Photographic Project.
The Team
We are photographers from Caracas, Venezuela. I work with my partner Gerardo Arenas. Together we are doing a photographic project about the human body.
The Project
The project is based on a series of group nudes in certain places, where we try to dehumanize the body and make it part of a whole. We want to fuse the bodies with each other and with the environment that surrounds them.
The main location of our photo sessions is the national park Waraira Repano, also known as El Ávila. El Ávila is a mountain that surrounds the entire valley of the city of Caracas. In this mountain we combine the natural nudity of the human body with nature.
Our goals:
- One of our main goals is to bring together as many people as possible, posing naked and being part of the natural landscape of the mountain.
- We want to make our photographs in different places that can enrich the aesthetics and content of our work. Places like museums and theaters.
- We want to express the beauty of the body and nature in a way that has not been done in this country.
- We want to get to expose the work in a gallery.
- We want to make a work of art.
What we need:
- What we need is an economic support to be able to obtain the necessary resources to fulfill all the goals.
- With an economic support we could pay the transports to arrive at more places in the mountain.
- We could pay the rent for the theaters and the spaces in the museums for the sessions.
- We could pay for a security staff during our sessions.
- And we could pay the participating models, who have been volunteers so far.
- We do not have any other support so far, we have used our own money in this project, but we do not have the amount necessary to meet all the goals. That’s why we turn to this medium where people can see our work and support it from anywhere in the world.
- We thank the people who took the time to read this and we hope that they can follow closely the evolution of this project.
Thank you!
