TOEFL Test Skill (TTS)

Today, for the first time I take a TOEFL test exam held on my college.

TOEFL (Test of English as Foreing Language) is a test of English proficiency (American accent) required to apply for admission to a university in the United States or other countries of the world. This test is necessary for applicants or speakers whose native language is not English. The TOEFL exam is organized by the ETS (Educational Testing Service) office in the United States for all test takers around the world.

This type of TOEFL English test is generally required for admission requirements at virtually any university in the United States and Canada for both undergraduate (S-1) and graduate (S-2 or S-3) programs. TOEFL test results are also used as a consideration of the English proficiency of prospective students who apply to universities in other countries, including universities in Europe and Australia. In general, the TOEFL test is more American English oriented, and slightly different from the British English-oriented IELTS type. Unlike the IELTS test, this TOEFL test generally does not have an individual piece of interview test. In addition TOEFL in today has started to be used in the world of work as one of the mechanism of recruitment or promotion level.

TOEFL Test usually takes about three hours and organized in 4 parts, namely:

• Listening comprehension,
• Grammar structure and written expression,
• Reading comprehension, and
• Writing.

Learning English is very important because English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. English is the official language of 53 countries. That is a lot of people to meet and speak to. English is also the language of science, of aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism. Knowing English increases your chances of getting a good job in a multinational company within your home country or of finding work abroad.

Hopefully today I get a satisfactory result in this TOEFL test.
