Fall In Love With Your Eyes Open And Your Feet On The Ground
Today I would like to share this beautiful phrase which I heard not a long time ago: "Fall in love with your eyes open and your feet on the ground"; in other words, fall in love with intelligence. But, how is it possible to achieve this?
Well, let's start with a scenario similar to this: you are in a meeting with friends and suddenly the most beautiful person you've ever seen in your life appears. You approach, a chat begins, and you discover that he/she has a lot of what you are looking for in an "ideal" mate. As time goes by, you confirm that this person is what you always expected, and in your mind you start creating stories and experiences that have not yet happened, but you are sure they will occur. And you realize that you are in love! Everything is perfect, until that person shows, says or does something unexpected, breaking your heart, and making you wonder what happened.
Baiscally, what happened was that in your mind you idealized that person. In your mind you created scenarios and gave qualities to someone who had only shown a little of himself/herself, based on what you want to find in a mate and what you want to live with him/her, and not on what that person really is, with virtues, defects, areas of opportunity. In other words, you are in love with the idea of love.
Fall in love, but with awareness and intelligence. Fall in love with someone real, that even with virtues and defects, turns out to be a fascinating person. Share real experiences with him/her, which although will not always be as expected, are perfect for you. Stop falling in love with ideals, and start loving real people, and enjoy the experiences you are having.
