Abuse of the votes from @esteemapp | English
How does @esteemapp work ?
To promote articles @esteemapp distributes upvotes to the articles posted via the app esteem.
Also busy uses this to support articles with the tag #busy.
Ultimately, this should only attract more users for these front ends.
However, because every article posted via esteem receives an upvote by default, the misuse of this function is unfortunately not far away.
Use of plagiarism and multiple accounts
Account structure and functioning of the system
I became aware of the accounts through @sawlwin. Together with him I discovered, starting from the account @mrnaingsoe, a small network of various accounts, which post stolen articles about esteem and collect upvotes.
As you can see in the picture, the text is the same everywhere. You don't have to be able to read the language to compare the characters and determine a match.
The article is written in Burmese, the local language of Myanmar, making it difficult to find the original source.
But @sawlwin, as someone from Myanmar, could help me a lot and found the source quite quickly.
The text is about football and was copied from here. The different pictures originate from several other sources like for example the cover of the post of @shwelayaung used in his article. It got stolen from an article about food.
Revenue through @esteemapp
As you may have already noticed, all the posts generated almost the same amount of revenue.
Every post earns around 0.5$ and this not without any reason.
Especially the weighty upvote of @esteemapp has brought a lot to the accounts. In addition, there is @good-karma, which is the developer of esteem and additionally supports posts about esteem. They provide a steady income.
Additionally there are of course the upvotes of the other accounts from the system.
Problem of the upvote-bots of esteem, busy, ...
A big problem is that really every post gets an upvote. It doesn't even seem to check whether the same text is posted more than once.
The only question is how easy this can be remedied. So the votes would have to be preceded by an automatic function like @cheetah has to find the same posts.
As far as I know, there is a blacklist for upvotes from esteem, but there should be better possibilities to report these accounts to esteem.
Another proposal from @keepcalmandread suggests esteem no longer to distribute upvotes to accounts whose reputation is under 25, have received a comment from cheetah or a flag from blacklist.
As one turns it, it is important that also esteem takes some action, since after all they support this spam.

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 18 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.
I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 11 SBD worth and should receive 50 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.

Yeah, seems like a bit of a problem. People will always find ways to abuse automatic upvotes...
There should definitely be some reputation requirement to get the upvote, because anyone can get it and abuse it.
