Venezuelan tradition
Hello friends of steemit today I wanted to tell you about a very traditional dance from Barquisimeto state Lara, Venezuela which is called tamunangue or also known as Sones de Negros.
The Tamunangue is a cultural heritage of the Nation, it is a folkloric tradition that unites three cultures the indigenous, the Spanish and the African.
The tamunangue is also known as "Sones de negros". It is at least 400 years old for what I understand and its name comes from the drum, a musical instrument that is used when interpreting the songs of the dance.
The tamunangue revolves around the devotion of Saint Anthony of Padua, whose festivity is on June 13 of each year is not only celebrated in my city Barquisimeto but also celebrated in Curarigua, Tocuyo, Sanare, San Antonio, Carora, San Miguel and Quibor. On the 12th of June it begins with the wake, then at dawn the celebration begins
