Famous Spanish disco accepts payments with Bitcoin
At a high-level party that took place last Monday night, the Olivia Valère nightclub in Marbella claimed to be the first in Spain to accept the cryptocurrency.
Several Spanish media reported that on Monday night there was a luxurious party at the Olivia Valère nightclub in Marbella, a city in southern Spain. The main reason for the event was the presentation of its new consumption payment system: Bitcoin.
According to spokespersons of the company, it would be the first Spanish club to accept payments with the cryptocurrency. However, already various establishments in that country have long received the digital currency as a means of payment. In fact, only in the central area of Madrid there are 98 places that accept Bitcoin, while in Barcelona there are 48, according to the Coinmap website. Some of these are cafes, restaurants, hostels and boutiques. Meanwhile, in the city of Marbella, the map reviews 10 stores that accept Bitcoin, including a driving school and a language school.
