Cervantes Magazine Number 17: Criptomovies and Criptoseries
When we talk about lust in the audiovisual scene we automatically see a few Xs in our minds and depending on the amount of Xs we will know if we are facing with an erotic film or pure hard porn ... As this Magazine is for all audiences and we try not to hurt sensibilities, we will stay with a single X and comment on some movies and series that can stimulate our basic ...instincts ;)
I remember when I was a child here in Spain, from where I write for all of you, there were only a couple of TV channels and in one of them, on Saturdays, they showed the movie of the week. It was a very expected moment for all since there were not many opportunities to watch movies without paying at the cinema.
We all prayed to everything that occurred to us so that at the beginning of the film we would not hear the typical characteristic sound that I cannot reproduce with any onomatopoeia and the symbols that indicated whether it was a film for all audiences, for semi adults or directly for adults. I am referring to diamonds. If none appeared, nothing would happen, if one appeared, your parents looked at you out of the corner of their eyes and looked at each other without talking, wondering what they should do ... But if two diamonds appeared, then there was no doubt, they sent you directly to bed ... go to read, or to play or to sleep, whatever you want, this movie is not for you!
The reason why two diamonds appeared on screen was always the same, there were sexual scenes throughout the film. They didn’t have to be very explicit scenes, with half a breast and a butt out, it was enough ... That eliminated any Spanish films from the 80's, 90s, 2000s, i mean, almost all them automatically xD. I don’t know if it is because of the years of repression by a fascist dictatorship or some other reason, but with the arrival of democracy lust was unleashed. I remember "Turkish passion" or "Sex and Lucia", "Belle Epoque" or "Y tu mamá también" which also incorporated a gay scene that caused controversy in its day when the LGBT community was not so normalized, at least in Spain, ... These films were already from the decade of the 90/2000s, when i was old enough to watch films with two diamonds, I didn’t have time for the previous ones and afterwards I didn’t bother to look for them, I had enough onanist material xD.
European cinema has always been lustful or less conservative than American cinema, there is no middle ground, they go from the demure with sexual scenes without explicit images of genitalia to the harshest porn of blonde women showing it all and muscular, dominant guys.
Anyway, we all remember Hollywood movies that once were real shockers such as "9½ Weeks" which caused a furore and elevated Kim Basinger as a lustful erotic icon of the 90s. Sharon Stone wanted to top it with "Basic Instinct" with that classic scene where she crosses her legs without underwear before Michael Douglas.
There are many films with lustful scenes, practically all have a sex scene, it’s like a forced cinematographic law.

Youtube forces you to login to check that you are of legal age in order to let you watch this scene where you see nothing but Halle Berry lying on the bed ... but her interpretation causes censorship from the site.
The world of series also provides us with excessive lust in some productions. All of those dealing with the theme of the old Roman Empire have a good assortment of lustful sex, their worship the Bacchus God and their bacchanalia have gone down in history and series take advantage of that to make their productions more attractive ... "Rome" or " Spartacus: Blood and Sand " are a festival of endless lust, as the Romans used to be! xD.
To name one more, I can mention "Californication", the title speaks for itself, and "True Blood", a show about vampires ... the most lush bloodsuckers who enjoy feeding while unleashing lust against their victims.
Anyway, audiovisual lust is fine, but I highly recommend real lust, I don’t know your politics, but I prefer to exercise rather than see;)
