Breakfast Venezuelan Style
The Arepa is a traditional food in my country Venezuela.
Ingredients:
- Two cups of corn flour
- Two and a half cups of water
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
- First of all we must wash our hands, then In a bowl or container place two cups of corn flour and salt to taste stir with a palette or spoon. then add two and a half cups of water; knead the dough until no lumps are left. and let it rest for at least three minutes.
Then form a ball of the size you like and start forming a flattened wheel (you can make it fried or roasted)
After forming your arepa. Preheat a plate or budare over medium heat and place them so that they cook side by side until they are golden brown on both sides and cooked inside them.
You can fill them to your liking .. I, fill them with butter, cheese and eggs scrambled with tomato, paprika and onion (here is called parakeet)
