Maintenance to a hair cutting machine

When we are doing haircuts, we usually do not imagine some other things that should be taken into account to correctly develop the work, as it is for example to keep our work tool clean, not only to look better but also to prolong its life.

It's been a year since I went into the art of barbering, for this date last December I was receiving instructions on how to clean and apply maintenance to my wahl machine, repair some common things that could fail at some point, etc ... And I came up with a post about this, so I decided to record myself while I clean my tool and explain how to do it step by step 😛

If you have an error with your machine, you can contact me in discord, maybe I can help you. Sometimes we get complicated and they are really simple mistakes, also if you are starting and you want to know some tricks that can help you to make the process easier and with better results.😛

For this we need: screwdriver, scissors and brush to remove the hair that gets stuck inside the blades, there are special sprays that we can use to prevent our blades from rusting, if you have the availability, buy it and use it. Without much more to add, let's start:

We will remove the screws that hold the blades of our machine, it is important not to let them fall because they are very delicate, especially the cutting (the small one), to do the cleaning I used a towel, to avoid in this way possible damages in case of a fall.

We remove the razor carefully, we put them separately and then we just start to clean each one of them, we can see that at the entrance to the motor of the machine there is a foam responsible for retaining the hair and prevent in this way from entering the engine of our machine

We remove the foam that covers the entrance to the engine of the machine, we must be careful as this could break ... If it happens, we can use any type of foam, cut it to the same extent and use it. It does not need to be a specific material

After cleaning the blades and everything under them, we proceed to re-assemble our machine, place the pieces and the blade that supports the cutting blades (that is, the big one is the one that supports, and the small one cut) we screw it just to hold it, but we do not tighten to calibrate them.

We calibrate the blades of our machine, the small blade (cutting blade) must not exceed the large blade (which holds), it would hurt the client, should be a little below the large blades, and should be aligned correctly.
