Slightly common animal in the island, (THE TERECAYA)
These terecayas that I show here are from my grandmother, she has many years with them, I dare to say that some are more than 15 years old. My grandmother is sick and I am taking care of her plants and animals, well there are few animals left, because they have been stolen. 
I will talk a bit about this animal, La terecaya is a species of freshwater turtle, they live in rivers and lakes. Their shell becomes very soft because it stays so long in the water, and could break easily. Despite being semiaquatic, they prefer to work in water than on land. 
When they are threatened, they tend to bite, and their bite is quite strong ... they feed on fish and plants. The females place 20 to 30 eggs twice a year. My grandmother keeps them and takes good care of you, these terecayas ..
