Definition And Understanding Of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Defining reinforced concrete is a reinforced concrete with a width and an amount of reinforcement that is not less than the minimum required with or without a prestige, and is planned on the assumption that the two materials work together in carrying the forces. Reinforced concrete is made of a combination of concrete and steel reinforcement. Therefore, reinforced concrete has the same properties as the constituent materials that is very strong against the press load and the tensile load.

Building structural systems made with reinforced concrete are designed from the basic principles of design and research of reinforced concrete elements that accept inner forces such as shear forces, axial forces, bending moments, and torque. Within this structure, it has great compressive strength but is weak against tensile stress. That's why reinforcing steel is planted in concrete to withstand tensile stress. The things that affect the quality of reinforced concrete include the attachment between concrete and steel that prevents slip of reinforcement, the degree of concrete that protects steel reinforcement from corrosion, and the rate of expansion between steel and concrete that can eliminate the voltage difference between the two.

Definition and Definition of Concrete

Concrete is a mixture of other portland / cement hydraulic cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water with or without additives that form solid periods. The aggregate is a granular type of building material, in which fine aggregate samples such as sand and rough aggregate are gravel. The concrete has a fundamental characteristic that is strong against the compressive load but weak to the tensile load.

Concrete can be classified into three kinds by volume. Among them are ordinary concrete, lightweight concrete, and hot sealing concrete.

The quality of a concrete can be said to be good if it is capable of fulfilling the strength planning, the mixture has certain mibility, and the mixture also should not be segregated or segregated during the casting process. While the factors that determine the quality of concrete include cement activity, water and cement ratio, aggregate quality, and hardening conditions of concrete.

Definition and Definition of Steel

Steel is a metal formed from a mixture of iron and carbon. In reinforced concrete structures, steel is used as a reinforcement embedded in the concrete. Steel ropes are claimed to be very strong against tensile loads and press charges. However, because steel reinforcement price is expensive, so avoid using steel reinforcement to support the press load of a building.

Steel reinforcement

Steel reinforcement used in the manufacture of reinforced concrete can be either plain iron or screw iron. The symbol for expressing the plain diameter is Ф and the screw iron is denoted by D. Below are examples of writing the description and the size of a steel.

  • 4Ф15 read 4 plain iron bar with a diameter of 15 mm.

  • Ф12-300 readable plain iron bar 12 mm diameter is 300 mm.

  • 7D15 read 7 threaded iron bars with a diameter of 15 mm.

  • D16-200 read threaded iron rod diameter 16 is 200 mm.

Parts of Reinforced Concrete

The reinforced concrete structure consists of concrete blocks, concrete columns, and concrete plates. The concrete beam serves to support the tensile stress and compressive stress caused by the flexural load occurring on the block. In addition, the manufacture of concrete beams must also consider the shear capacity, deflection, cracking, and length of distribution. In holding the tensile stress, the concrete beam is supported by the steel reinforcement installed in the areas where the tension works.

The second reinforced concrete portion is a concrete column, which acts to support the roof structure, bind the wall, and forward the load to the sloof. Columns can be established in a square or circle. Installation of steel reinforcement on the column can be done symmetrically or circled the sides. Repetition can also be practically connected above the ground and in the middle of the column.

The last is a concrete plate, where it is a reinforced concrete section that is built horizontally so that the load that works on the concrete plate becomes perpendicular. The thickness of the concrete plates is much thinner than the length / width span of the plane. Its very rigid nature allows concrete plates can be utilized as a diaphragm element alias horizontal stiffening section that hold the beam of the portal beam. The load acting on this part is usually calculated against the gravitational load resulting in the occurrence of bending moments.

So much for my explanation of the definition and definition of a reinforced concrete structure. May be useful for steemit users.
