Cable pulling: When wiring for heavy high voltage cables needs real men.

In a world full of technological advancement, not all works done by an automated machine. But with a man himself. Cable pulling needs a bloody strength, work hours and strategies to install heavy cables which weighs depends on length per wire on a three phase color coded system with a ground.

With a proper and enough lubrication , pulling makes it easier because it will just slide to raceways and conduits it needed to pass through.

When working at this kind of job the your primary concern must be the safety of life on every workplace. The Safety Officers/Engineer will require you with this following PPE's (Protective Personal Equipment):

IMPORTANT PROTECTIVE PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

1st: Safety shoes much preferable a steel toed one to withstand an accidental drop of the cable. And prevent feet injury on hazardous area that you may step on.

2nd: Safety gloves prevents you to have an abrasions or burn due to pulling repeatedly.

3rd: Reflectorized vests At places of lesser illumination this PPE is much needed for the visiblilty of all the personel working at that certain area.

4th: Decent long pants and long sleeves

5th: Hard Hat In case of falling objects that may result a very dangerous head injury. (personel working at the picture did not required to wear a hard hat at that certain area because the safety officers marked it safe for falling objects).

This job always leads to success or a disaster once it compromise the safety and technical precautions. Jammed cables in a raceways , conduits, pull boxes is another thing. Reporting to Supervising Engineer is a need to ensure the progress and safety necessary to successful projects.
