RE: ADSactly Tech News - Are We Gearing Up for an Electric Future?

in #engineering6 years ago

It would be great to find an abundant, accessible, clean source of energy, and there is no reason not to devote to it intelligence and ... energy. But imagine that we do not find it, or in any case, that we can not develop and industrialize it in time?

It seems at least prudent to foresee the case where the miracle does not take place, right?

One could even say that, in certain circles of which you are obviously not part, the announcement (constant, it's been 15 years since I hear it) of these future sources of inexhaustible energy and without negative externalities, serves to delay even prevent any serious attempt to change the development model. Since technology will finally save us, why bother?

But as time goes by, the miracle solution remains a promise that is constantly being postponed, programs are breaking new records every year and therefore, it does not seem foolish to plan some plans B, C, D ...

Sort:

Absolutely. My only fear is that it already exists and has been kept from humanity by powers that would rather control us, selling us what we could have for free if circumstances were different. And destroying the planet as a consequence of their actions... Perhaps I just think the worst, who knows?
