Did you know that embroidery is a valuable work of art a few centuries ago and became the identity of a nation until not all embroidery artists are allowed to use the art of a certain nation to use?

Art of embroidery has been known since thousands of years ago even every country has different characteristics [source]. The different art from different countries becomes an unique embroidery art identity to be enjoyed.

Decades ago, embroidery artists still used needles, threads and sewing machines to produce embroidery art.

Some of the famous embroidery art in Indonesia is *kerawang* embroidery art, this embroidery art comes from Gayo tribe, Aceh. This type of filigree embroidery was originally an ornament a traditional house and applied to the craft of embroidery [source], the use of this filigree motif has penetrated up to a craft bag and so on, now the art of kerawang embroidery motif has been enjoyed to foreign countries.

As the times progressed, the art of embroidery finally changed from a previous one as a handicraft turned into a fabrication product.

The use of embroidery machines has changed an art of embroidery which previously was a craft of the artists into mass consumption material.

The era of modernization of embroidery is growing rapidly and large companies have taken a position of embroidery artists or even helped them reach the internet world and even provide free services.

EMBROIDERY PROCESS USING COMPUTER EMBROIDERY MACHINE

Using computer embroidery machines requires several stages, such as preparation stages, redrawing patterns on special programs to create prints as embroidery references.

You should make sure the design source to be used as a reference can be sketch or design software, but if your drawing is manual (sketch) then you are encouraged to transfer the image to soft copy using a scanner.

Images generated from scanners or design applications do not have a description of the thread flow then the images are re-copied/process with special applications that can be understood by the computer embroidery machine.

Some special applications will detect the type of color, yarn density and can adjust the yarn flow in accordance with the design/image that we have input, the results of this application is called punching or reference.

Punching will tell you how many stitches (required stitches) are required on the design and the price to complete. [source]

The rapid technological advancement helps human to finish some kind of work faster than usual and facilitate the difficult process beforehand.

Some people argue by modernizing the work of art precisely causes the decreasing of the value of art contained by certain objects.

But we realize that modernization can not be avoided, it's just that we are required to be wise to use the technology and of course the manufacturing products have different artistic value with the results of more human artists.
