7 reasons why I studied Mechanical Engineering … so here you are …steemCreated with Sketch.

I understand mechanical engineering as that field of studies that extends our learning in areas of science, technology, energy, work, electricity in order to design, model, build, complete adequate processes that convert energy (in any of its forms) into work.

Reason # 1
Mechanical Engineering has a wide field of action, since any production process involving machinery and equipment, requires mechanical engineering interventions to improve its operation. To the extent that the machines have an adequate maintenance plan, they can reduce the costs of operation and repair of the same, and this makes the companies much more prosperous.

Reason # 2
The work of the mechanical engineer is not limited to maintenance activities, machinery design, energy efficiency analysis, incorporation of alternative energy sources, development and improvement of materials, automation of industrial processes, technical and commercial assistance and the management of production companies, which are some of the areas of higher performance of ME graduates; more than 95% of ME’s are engaged in engineering activities.

Reason # 3
It is a career choice with which it is very easy to have international experiences, since it can be practiced in any part of the world, that is to say, the Mechanical Engineering that is studied in, let’s say, Gabon is basically the same one that is studied in France or Malaysia.

Reason # 4
The possibilities of doing student exchanges and international internships are very high. Students of Mechanical Engineering are the ones who benefit most thanks to the high demand that exists in most countries.

Reason # 5
The study of Mechanical Engineering is fascinating, not only because of its application, but also because it facilitates the understanding of physical phenomena of general interest, which is why the mechanical engineer is grounded in understanding many areas of knowledge, which makes the incursion into many areas of work, and postgraduate study in most areas of engineering and science.

Reason # 6
Facilitates the integral training of a student, because in addition to the subjects designed for the purpose of completing a career, extra academic spaces allow participation in many areas of other specializations.

Reason # 7
The Mechanical Engineering program allows for the practice in specialized laboratories for study of the natural sciences and engineering Electronics, Systems and Industrial as many other areas of technology.

Awesome pictures, I study ICT myself very interesting too but those machines look very badass ;)

txs .... I think point is study what you like and then make the best of it .... good luck in studies ...

Congratulations on selecting a very rewarding course of study and future career path!

yes it has been quite a rewarding career and life experience txs

I currently study Aircraft maintenance engineering, only 4 months left before my diploma! I love the daily challenges and especially wrenching on some parts (:

congrats...I personally love the fact that can follow the path from paper to completion of ideas in hard ...

Very interesting post. Good luck with the studies!

Your into mechanics too! Do you know how to build a Solar Wind?
