...the story of PI and CIRCLE
Today, the radio guy told me some Google guy broke a record: Apparently this guy managed to calculate - in just around 4 months with the support of 25 virtual machines from the Google Cloud - the staggering number of 31.4 trillion π digits.
Those who don't know: PI is this number with endless number of digits. We use PI to calculate circles: the circumference of circles to be more exact. A circle with a diameter of 1, has a circumference of exactly PI, which is approximately 3,14159.
The funny thing with PI and CIRCLE is the fact that PI is not an exact number - at least not for humans and even computers - and the Circle represents in various ways the idea of 'endless'; In its strict sense no beginning and no end; but also in a more abstract sense: think of he wedding ring for instance.
PI and CIRCLE belong together!
No doubt about that :)

RAVING FOXES highly recommend a soundtrack from the movie PI
wow, cool indeed! never seen the movie and didn't realise they got such a 'lineup' together!
it was one of the first movies from director Darren Aronofsky, known from Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan or his newest and very hard movie called Mother!
Added this to my 'to watch' list!
