Educational and motivational meeting with children in the Sociotherapy Centre

In the hands of the younger generation rests the fate of our world and that is why it is worth to learn it the rules that can help children in their adult life. It is important to educate, develop and motivate young people to act because thanks to this, in the future, great things can happen. Unfortunately, not everyone has an equal chance at the start and that's why I want to help young people who struggle every day with all kinds of difficulties.



My motivation was the situation that affected my son Dominik, who at the age of 11 was directed to the Youth Socio-therapy Centre. It helps children who have problems with interacting with their friends, communicating with parents, addictions, motivation to study and other things that make it difficult for them to live in society and may have an impact on their future. Self-aggressive behavior, acts of violence and even suicide attempts are not uncommon. So the situation is very serious.

Psychologists and psychiatrists confirm that the number of children and teenagers with similar problems is increasing year by the year. The reasons for such behaviors are different, however, we can identify a disturbed family structure, lack of interest and education on the side of parents, failures at school or low self-respect.

When the first signs of social unsuitability are diagnosed, it is important to react quickly and to follow an effective procedure. Before a child is properly diagnosed, an interview with parents is being conducted, the children's intellectual level is being examined, psychological and pedagogical diagnosis and the social-emotional sphere is also being examined. Children whose symptoms of social-emotional maladjustment are diagnosed will be directed to centers such as the one in Gniezno (Poland) to which my son was sent.

They require a special pathway of education, raising and social therapy. The whole process takes place under the watchful eye of qualified specialists who try to help children return to the life in society. However, in my opinion, there is more that can be done, and I would like to make the children aware that their presence in the center can help them in the future. I want to show them examples of people who have faced similar problems but who have succeeded well in adult life.

That is why I decided to take things into my own hands and, with the help of the @fundition, I want to organize a motivating meeting for young people who show signs of social maladjustment at the Youth Socio-therapy Centre in Gniezno (Poland). The number of participants is 40 young people suffering from social assimilation problems.



The special guest of this meeting is the artist "Kalik" - a rapper "from the street". He is a person who, despite the fact that in childhood she struggled with the same problems as the youth in the Sociotherapy Centre, triumphed over his weaknesses, and now inspires people with his work to change their life for the better.



In my opinion, young people can come to an understanding with these artists. Thanks to the fact that they can identify with him, they have a chance to understand that they can start expressing themselves differently, e.g. through art, music or by writing down their feelings on paper. During this meeting, I want to organize a contest with prizes for " The Rapper of the Future". The task of the young people will be to write a motivational text in several verses and then present it to the rhythm of the music. At the end of the meeting, all participants will receive a "Kalik" album with an autograph. Thanks to this everyone will feel as if they have won, and this is the goal! :)



The meeting will be recorded and the video can be used by the Center staff as a tool to motivate more young people in the future.

In order to organize such a meeting it is necessary to raise $230 USD, below I present a complete cost estimation:

Travel expenses refund for the artist and operator - $65
To get to the place "Kalik" has to ride a distance from Warsaw to Gniezno, in total it is over 600 km. Of course, the artist does not receive any payment for his participation in the project so I would like him to avoid additional costs.

Lunch for the artist and his cameraman - $20
After such a long ride I would like to invite them to lunch during which they will gain strength and energy before performing for children.

CDs for the participants of the meeting (40 pieces) - $108
The artist decided to give each of the participants of the meeting a CD with his autograph.Because the purpose of the meeting is noble, "Kalik" only asked for a refund of the cost of producing the CDs and does not receive any fee from this amount.

Reflective bands printed with Fundition.io logo (100 pieces) - $35
Each participant of the meeting will receive a memorial armband with the logo of the Fundition. The rest of the bands will be given to other children who are under the care of the center. The armband not only promotes the activities of the Fundition but also increases the safety of children on the road, the armband on a hand or attached to a backpack will warn drivers from a long distance.



Because I care about the smooth organization of the meeting I can't wait for power down Steem Power so I'll finish the raising and start the project at the moment when we collect the whole required amount.

I believe that only We, adults can change the future of children for the better. We can't afford to be passive when We see that something disturbing is beginning to happen with our children.
