Courage is definitely a hard one to develop. You can have the knowledge. You can have the understanding. But then to act... it takes the courage to overcome some fears, fear of rejection, fear of fasting time, fear of wasting energy, etc., but when we have enough care to motivate us, we can generate the courage and then the will-power to finally do it.
Check out this infographic for an illustration of how the flame of Care for Truth/"Love" is where is starts, the flame is small, but it's responsible for the whole chemical reaction afterwards, and gets the courage/fire in our "hearts" (symbolically) going. Truth=Law="Love" (Lw=Lv in philology, not "love" that you may be thinking, but "Love"=Truth and Care for Truth, it's the highest form of Care because Moral Law/Truth is what determines the quality and condition of our lives.
