What are Mixed Emotions? How Can It Be Resolved?

in #emotions6 months ago

It may not always be easy to put our thoughts into groups, even if we are at peace with them or know ourselves well. Sometimes, making sense of the complicated feelings we have can help us accept them.

We looked into what it means to have complex feelings and how to deal with them.

Starting to laugh out of the blue while crying, feeling overwhelmed with worry when we hear good news, or being happy even when we're sad... When we have a lot of strong feelings at once, we might not know what to do.

In a world where everything is black and white, being vague about our thoughts and feelings can lead to chaos. When a lot of different emotions are felt at the same time, it can lead to sadness, poignancy, and inner conflict.

To process and resolve these feelings, you need to know why they happen.

The Cambridge Dictionary says that when you have mixed thoughts about something, you are both happy and unhappy about it. But it's important to remember that complicated feelings are more than this.

When feelings from different ends of the spectrum come together, we can say that complex emotions have come out.

It's harder to explain what we feel when we have complex feelings at first glance because the emotions happen at different times but are felt very closely together at the same time.

Once we know about this situation, we can really judge them. We often think we know what our feelings are about, but they aren't always that clear and general. Our feelings are connected to certain things and events.

In other words, the thing that makes us feel a certain way doesn't change, but the way we feel it does.

Feeling very angry at someone you love a lot and also being grateful at the same time are some examples of these different interactions. Other examples are being happy about a success while also having performance anxiety.

When we experience the same thing, these complicated feelings come up. They are linked to inner conflict and tension, which makes us feel bad.

Having thoughts, feelings, reactions, or opinions that are at odds with each other about an object, experience, or event is known as contradiction. When we have mixed feelings about an event, both good and bad, they make us unsure and unable to decide what to do.

When we're under a lot of stress, our good and bad feelings become more contradictory and often mix together. Because of this, people who can better understand and classify their opposing feelings may be able to handle stress better.
