Emirates Boeing 777-300er fire exit seats

So have you ever wondered about how you can't book fire exit seats? Not just on this plane but in many others to.
I always thought they were reserved for disabled and the like, but I was wrong,
We recently flew Emirates and bagged ourselves the fire exit seats the seat configuration on this plane is 3/4/3
As it was just the 2 of us we thought extra leg room, sleep without being disturbed with people going to toilet, this was the worst decision ever.
First here's how to bag the seats - pre book seats that you are happy to take, get yourself to the airport before checking in opens, make sure you are fit and able and ask at the check in desk if the fire exit seats are available, they will then need the ok from the supervisor on duty to allow you to book these, mostly based on you being fit and able,
Now for the seats, they look good stacks of leg room but these seats don't recline as far as the other seats, your tray for food folds out the arm so you need to nudge the person out the way who's hogging the arm rest, your tray is no where near as sturdy as the ones on the seat backs so you find yourself chasing your food as it moves without notice around the tray, if the person next to you falls asleep on there dinner then your stuck with your tray on your knees until they stop dribbling and snoring, now for the ice (tv) this folds out from your seat so you can't watch tv while the plane is parked, so while everyone is settled in with a movie your left sitting wondering if you forgot to pack the nut smugglers (swimming trunks) your left until the plane is in the air, they also tell you to stow it away about 30 minutes before landing (there goes the end of the movie you have been watching) if only they would say in advance instead of watching 3/4 of a movie for it to be cut short, no chance of sleeping there almost bolt upright, my advice is forget the extra room,
