ELVIS PRESLEY Fans? Take A Tour At His Birthplace, Tupelo, Mississippi
If you don't know much about Elvis Aaron Presley, come learn. I was visiting my pal in Alabama and he took me up to Mississippi for quite a treat. Yes, I'm a big Elvis fan.
In Tulepo, Mississippi, Elvis was born along with his stillborn twin brother, Jesse Garon.
This was Elvis Presley's first home. His father, Vernon, earned 2 dollars a day. One day, Vernon sold a hog to a man. The man wrote a check for 4 dollars. Vernon knew this pig was worth much more, and feeling cheated, added another 0 on 4 dollar check making it 40 dollars. He was busted for check fraud. This is the courthouse he went to and was sentenced to 3 years in the penitentiary.
The house had two main rooms. The kitchen, dining room area.
And the bedroom area.
There was no bathroom inside the house, so they used the outhouse. I guess my buddy thinks it's still in operation.
Here's a picture of a replica family car.
Later in life, his mother Gladys took him to the store to buy a bicycle at this store.
This is the plaque in the front with a story about this store.
After learning the guitar, he would often play "Old Shep", one of his classmates favorite.
This was his elementary school.

The place these Elvis memorial guitars all over town.
As he got older, he would often go here to get his favorite sandwich - a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich.
Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
