Elon Musk plans to implant processor chips in a human's brain through surgery.
Though he claims the purpose of this concept is not just to insert the chip into the human's brain.
Or to connect the human's brain to the internet and digitalize it.
But rather it is to solve neurological issues and help people with brain damage or disorder.
And also to help people who have been involved in an accident and thus have issues in their spine, neck or another body part.
But this is just a short term plan.
Elon also has a long term plan of integrating humans with artificial intelligence which he sees the potential of them superseding the natural human's brain.
Isn't that a challenge to our species?
In as much as Elon Musk's Neuralink has its own advantages, there is need to be vigilant and observant to consider the ways this Neuralink can go wrong because if it goes wrong in any way it can affect our society.
Humans are known for their dynamic ways and how they make self decisions and do as they please.
What happens when there is a device inserted into the brain that gives little ability of Professor X?
Not only will it be abused but there will be a lack of humanity in its natural glory.
Not to mention that a device monitoring and recording the controls and commands human send wirelessly is a major blow on the right to privacy man enjoy.
Though it has been established that specialized robot will be programmed to perform the surgery and insert the chip what happens when there are unforeseen complications and damage is made to the brain tissue?
It is not hidden that there are some government that wants total surveillance of their citizen, they can use this as an avenue to carry out their selfish desire and even declare every citizen to get drilled and have a chip inserted into their brain.
With this, the kind of surveillance described in George Orwell's "1984" could be playing out in no time.
There is also the problem that comes with wireless devices.
It stands the risk of being hacked.
Cybersecurity is always facing one threat or the other, hackers see new technologies as a new challenge to conquer.
So people information are definitely at risk of being tampered with or compromised.
