Reinventing the wheel without knowing it.

I think Elon's purchase of Twitter was a bad idea from an investment standpoint. I hate the platform, still do, and don't think that's likely to change under his ownership. I don't care if non-elites can get blue checkmark verification as well from monetizing the thing for the masses and I've yet to see the moderation details.

But man... the amount of haters letting him live rent free in their heads is a thing of beauty. I wasn't able to enjoy this as much when it was Trump, given I was a Trump hater as well in the peak time of TDS. They're reminding me of the inverse of those old clingy ex girlfriend memes, like the anti-Stan. It's glorious.

What's wrong with the model we have on crypto blockchains which involve some kind of skin in the game for bad behaviour? He thinks there's a lot of bots and fake accounts out there. His argument is, essentially... Say one wants to make fake accounts... Costs them the equivalent of maybe a penny an account to do.

So.. A hundred fake accounts can be generated for a buck, most of the monetization being nothing other than time. If it's eight bucks an account, it would cost eight hundred to make a hundred fake accounts. The monetization easily would allow them to say, like.. Yes, this is this person, given payment methods.
