Humble masterpieces Orlowski Museum of art

in #elegance5 years ago

The idea to go to the Orel city came to our Italian friend Franco. He is a foreigner, and he is interested in everything here. Franco stayed with us for almost a month and once said that he had seen all the sights in Bryansk, where we all live, so he would like to travel to the surrounding cities to see the interesting places there.

To get from Bryansk to the Orel can take just a couple of hours in slow motion. In the morning, a hearty breakfast, we hit the road.

The city of Orel met us with good weather and friendly citizens. In a large cozy Park on the shore, where two rivers Oka and Orlik merge together, we rested from the road, and then went to explore the old part of the city.

I will definitely tell you about our adventures in one of the next reports, but today I want to tell you about our visit to the Orel State art Museum.

After a walk around the city, we sat in a local pizzeria and talked about how to spend those few hours, which we had until we left home. And then I suggested going to the local Museum. Moreover, not only Franco, but all of us will be happy to have such a cultural and educational tour.

The Museum was just around the corner. Orel generally small town, less than Bryansk, so everything is within walking distance. The Museum building was quite beautiful in appearance, although inside it is quite modest.

There are a lot of paintings in the Museum. The main permanent exhibition includes works by old Russian masters M. N. Vorobyov, A. I. Korzukhin, G. G. Myasoedov, P. P. Konchalovsky, N. In. Mescherin, P. A. Sukhodolsky, N. P. Krymov.

Currently, the Department of foreign art includes about 500 works of portrait, landscape, story and religious painting by artists of Italy, France, Austria, Germany, England, Poland, Western European graphics (mainly printed), sculpture and arts and crafts of the XVI-XX centuries.

There are different sculptures, busts and household items in the Museum. There are also a various wares, and some samples of ancient furniture, pianos. The interiors are modest, but the Museum is maintained in the proper form.

Along with the permanent exhibition, which occupies most of the halls of the Museum, there are periodically exhibited temporary exhibitions of local and visiting artists. There are also exhibitions of reproductions of famous paintings and engravings. So, for example, after viewing the main halls, we visited the Aivazovsky exhibition.

The idea to visit the Museum was very successful. We got a lot of positive impressions. The building here is much larger than the art Museum of Bryansk, and there are also much more paintings.
