I just realized that I haven't drawn anime characters with ballpoint pen for a long time.

Ballpoint pen was my first art style.

My daughter was drawing fan art first and since I am a big anime fan as well, I thought it'll be fun to be able to do the same.

Also, there were a few artists on Instagram drawing with ballpoint pen without using erasers.

I thought it would be cool if I could to that.

But forget about no eraser drawing!

It wasn't for me.

I needed to sketch first with mechanical pencil and finishing with ballpoint pen became my style of drawing.

I became obsessed about mechanical pencils later on hahaha

Anyways, this is where I was...WIP of Rayleigh from anime One Piece.

最近、アニメキャラクターをボールペンで描いてないことに気付きました。

なんてこったぁ～

ボールペン画は私の初めてのアートスタイルなのですよ！

先にファンアートを描き始めたのは長女ちゃんで、私も描けたら楽しいだろうなと思って始めたお絵かきです。

どんな風に描こうかなと思った時に、インスタグラムでボールペンで一発描きをしている方と出会い、これは面白い！と思ったのですが

一発描きは無理でした^^;

消しゴムくん愛していますw

この後、シャーペンで下書きをしてからボールペンで仕上げるというスタイルになり、鉛筆画は描かないくせに (今は描きます) シャーペン大好きでたくさん集めるようになりました。

さてさて、
先日、制作途中だったレイリーのファンアートです。

I used ballpoint pen very lightly to do lineart and erased the pencil line.

I get sad a little every time when I have to erase my sketch lol

ボールペンで薄く線画を描き、消しゴムで...せっかく描いたのに...下書きを消します。いつもこの瞬間少し悲しくなります、笑

Adding many many lines of ballpoint pen.

細かいボールペンの線を描いていきます。

Some more lines.

たくさん描きます。

My version of Rayleigh is done!

そしてレイリーの出来上がり。
