[Electroneum] Weekly News Roundup (12/02/18)
It's been another week of exciting announcements and updates from the Electroneum team. Cryptocurrency markets are fairly stable, and finally starting to show signs of growth, so we should see Electroneum prices return to what they were earlier in January. I'll be posting fewer daily updates regarding Electroneum, and instead I'm going to focus on this weekly report that'll be a comprehensive run-down of the latest ETN happenings. This will also allow me to start developing other projects I've had in mind for the Steemit platform, so stay tuned for more on those. Enough of that, let's get into the latest Electroneum news.
Mobile Miner
We've received some more details regarding the Mobile Miner beta and proposed launch date. First, Richard Ells announced in an email update sent out last week that all participants of the beta programme would indeed be receiving their pending balances as payouts as a reward for taking part. This is a welcomed surprise, and we'll receive these payouts when the miner goes live.
In the email update, Mr Ells also communicated that he hopes that the mobile miner will go live in time for the MWC event on the 26th February 2018, which isn't far away now. Expect more news regarding this closer to the time of the event.
Update to Core Code
The dev team have released an updated version of their core Electroneum code. This is important for anyone running a pool, exchange or using the command-line tools. You must upgrade to the current version before ETN block 179840.
This version fixes a bug that the community have been worried about related to block 202162, as well as implementing hundreds of new lines of code with fixes and features. ETN App and web wallet users don't need to do anything, as this is only for technical operators of Electroneum.

Quoine Exchange
The Electroneum team have today announced that they have agreed a strategic partnership with Japanese crypto platform QUOINE, and will be listed on the QRYPTOS exchange and will be working with QUOINE to be accepted onto QUOINEX, the fully regulated Japanese exchange.
QUOINE was the first exchange platform to achieve full regulatory approval from the Japanese Financial Services Agency (JSFA) and is known as one of the most secure and reputable crypto-focused fintech companies in the world. It is one of very few global exchanges to have been accepted by Deloitte and Touche as an auditing client and has a highly experienced management team with expertise earned at Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse.
This is very exciting news indeed, with gaining regulatory acceptance from JSFA would enable Electroneum to fast track acceptance as a payment solution, which would be another stride forwards towards mass adoption. Richard Ells. CEO of Electroneum, said:
“This is a great step for Electroneum. Not only will it allow our users to deposit USD or EUROs to trade ETN, but QUOINE sponsoring us through the regulatory process with the Japanese Financial Services Authority will open up exciting new corporate opportunities.”
If you would like to sign up to QUOINEX and earn 3 QASH tokens in the process, please use my referral link to sign up. The bonus 3 QASH is only available using a referral link.

And Finally...
In the email update sent out by Richard Ells last week, he pointed out that Electroneum now has over 800,000 registered users, nearly double that from the end of their ICO. There is no doubt in my mind that they will hit the 1,000,000 users mark by around the time of the MWC event and Mobile Miner launch. In many ways though, the most exciting news is that over 1 Billion dollars worth of ETN has been traded since going live only three months ago. That really is a heck of an achievement. Now is still the time to buy into ETN if you haven't already, but please remember, never invest more than you can afford to lose. Seriously.
What do you think about these new announcements? Let me know in the comments down below, and make sure to follow me on Steemit for more Electroneum updates and Cryptocurrency news, as well as other interesting things I find lurking in the depths of the web.

I enjoy reading Electroneum porn. Thank you.
Thank you for reading! I'm gonna stick with the weekly ETN updates every Monday from now on, put a bit more effort into it and hopefully develop a few more weekly feature articles.
