[Electroneum] Weekly News Roundup (05/02/18)

Current Price: £0.0426 | $0.0599

Another week and more announcements from the Electroneum team. It's been a tough week all round, but the price of ETN is holding steady at around £0.04 even thought Bitcoin is down to around £5400, a shockingly steep decline for the crypto Grandfather. Only time will tell what's going to happen in the short-term, but with regulation on the horizon things could be about to change (for the better). Let's get into the latest updates.

NEXT.exchange Official Start Date

ETN trading will officially begin on NEXT.exchange from 14th February 2018, although the Electroneum team are yet to endorse this. NEXT is a new exchange, with some people being skeptical about it as there aren't that many details available regarding the exchange. As always, take caution when using any crypto services, and never invest more than you can afford to loose. Potentially though, with more exchanges this brings more opportunity for higher volumes of trade, more publicity and hopefully, plenty of growth for this young coin.

Mobile Miner Beta Expanded

The team have now started the second stage of their beta programme, and have opened up the mining simulator to a larger group of testers. If you applied for the beta programme, open up your Electroneum app to check if you've been accepted.

Part of Electroneum's mission statement is to be the first cryptocurrency to be adopted by the masses, lowering the barriers of entry to the crypto markets and bringing cryptos to the masses. The mobile miner is a large part of that strategy, with the hope of allowing less-privileged people to subsidise the cost of the mobile device/provider. Expect more updates regarding the official launch of the mobile miner soon.

Electroneum to Exhibit at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2018

Another big announcement this week was that Electroneum have confirmed that they are now officially members of GSMA. GSMA represents the interests of nearly 800 mobile operators across the world, and the team are the very first cryptocurrency to join the organisation. They have also been invited to exhibit at GSMA’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

This is very exciting news to hear, and puts the team in the perfect position to accelerate Electroneum’s integration into the world of mobile payments. The Electroneum team are the perfect first cryptocurrency to become a member of GSMA and exhibit at its famous conference, with their technology and strategy entirely revolving around mobile devices.

Electroneum will have a stand throughout the conference, and CEO Richard Ells will be speaking and taking part in a panel discussion on 27th February about ‘Mobile Identity’. Expect more details to be released very soon.

New Website Launched

Alongside the big GSMA announcement, the team revealed that they have launched their new look website. It's full of new information and showcases their roadmap to future success, so make sure to go check it out. It's a sleek and modern design, fitting for a 21st Century crypto company.

The GSMA announcement is big! Also the new website looks a lot better. I knew they would get it rolling again.

Yeah I feel like potentially that's the biggest news yet, it also gives the project alot more credence.
