what is electron and what is ‘electron on steemit?’
it’s a cool platform that allows someone (hopefully) non coder like me to hack together something (and get some help) to build our some applications that have been floating around my brain for far too long and need to come to life. i’m also sharing my journeys with the platform alongside these quick fire shows highlighting some tools that have been built with the platform. mainly to inspire me to keep going when things look really complicated but also so you can discover some neat tools! :)
sketching and planning initial looks
i keep distracting myself. i keep floating between developing ideas for a small app for doing a tray bar task for steemit and the idea that i wanted to develop. one could help amplify the other but arrrrggh, i hate biting off more than i can chew and then adding on top of that. the best mental place for me right now is to decide on the modules and look and feel the app should have. the more planning i do now the easier it will be to come up with the look and i want to keep it modular as possible so that parts can be written and almost an app store can be built around it.
as i know my initial look and feel and coding will be rough and probably hacked together i need to make sure that people get what i’m trying to achieve so i can bring on additional designers and developers to help, i can see the big picture of what i’m trying to build out so i need to limit myself on what the scale of it is and instead getting a working MVP done. listening to your own advice you would normally give clients is hard, acting on it even harder at times. zone in phil, zone in!
