Today I've finally done my project in Plumbing and Electrical works. Last week, we were told to perform the different wire splices introduced us on our discussion including those weren't yet done PVC bending, and now, I am so overwhelmed watching it completely done.

The fundamental necessities of effective splice include making sure the wires are securely fastened to each other even without solder and that they are well-soldered to avoid corrosion. In making those splices, I used different pliers such as longnose, sidecutter and universal to perform the loops and to support the other and to make it securely in contact with each other. It's kinda difficult cause the wires used was hard and to be true, I got cuts and breaks in my skin.

so, let's take a little bit closer for clear details.

Western Union Long-Tie Splice is use extensively for outside wiring.
Western Union Short-Tie Splice is the most widely used splice or joint in interior wiring and is extend the length of wire from one point to another.
Tap Joint is a very strong joint and will not untwist even though a strain is placed upon it. It is occasionally used in practice, particularly for temporary lighting system, where time is not taken to solder joints.
Small Aerial Tap joint is used mostly on outside work, or in locations where wires are subjected to considerable movement.

Underwriter's Knot is neither a joint nor a splice but a knot that is made in lamp cord to relieve the strain on small wires and binding screws at rosetics, sockets and male plugs.
Wrapped Tap or Tee joint is used on large solid conductors where it is difficult to wrap the heavy tap wire around the main wire.
Terminating Fixture joint is used when fixture leads are joined to the end run of the top conductor.
Rat Tail joint is used to join conductors in outlet boxes or when fixture leads are connected to through conductors.
Britania Splice is used in both interior and exterior wiring where solid wires of No. 6 AWG gauge or larger sizes are to be joined and where large wire connectors or pliers are not at hand.

Mc Entire Sleeve is used for splicing copper or steel telephone and telegraph line wires.
Double Wrapped Cross joint is just like an ordinary cross joint but double wrapped with electrical tape. It is used where two tap conductors need to extend away from the branch conductor in the opposite direction.

Duplex Wire Splice is used only in conduit systems wherein duplex wires are used.
Through Fixture joint is used where fixtures are connected to branch wires in an intermediate point.

That's all for today, stay tuned for more hope you like it.
