চারিদিকে নির্বাচনের ছোয়া
আসন্ন জাতীয় নির্বাচনকে কেন্দ্র করে দেশ উত্তাল। বিভিন্ন দলের অবিরত চেষ্টা নিজেদের শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব প্রমানের। এই সময় এলেই শুরু হয় বিভিন্ন স্লোগান। অমুক ভাইয়ের চরীত্র ফুলের মত পবিত্র। অমুক ভাই এগিয়ে যান, আমরা আসি তোমার সাথে। আসলেই কি তাদের চরিত্র ফুলের মত?
এরপর চলতে থাকে অমুক দলের অমুক ব্যক্তি চোর, আমি ফেরেস্তা।
ঐ দল আপনাদের পাশে ছিলো না, আমি মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত আপনাদের সেবা করে যাবো।
রাস্তা-ঘাট, সমাজের প্রতিটা জায়গায় উন্নয়নের জোয়ার বইয়ে দেব।
ঘরে ঘরে চাকুরী আর বিদ্যুৎ পৌছে দেবো।
এসব কথা বলে সাধারন মানুষকে বুকে টেনে তাদের সরলতার সুযোগ নিয়ে জয়ী হবার পাইতারা করে। অবশেষে সফল হয়। বোকা মানুষ গুলো পথ চেয়ে থাকে তাদের নেতা তাদের জন্য অনেক কিছুই করবে। কিন্তু বাস্তবতা ভিন্ন কথা বলে। পরবর্তি সময়ে তাদের টিকিও দেখা মেলে না।

বাংলাদেশের আয়তনের তুলনায় জনসংখ্যা অনেক বেশী থাকায় দেশের অধিকাংশ মানুষ দরিদ্রসীমার নিচে বসবাস করে।
আমাদের দেশের অধিকাংশ মানুষই কৃষি কাজের উপর নির্ভরশীল। তারা সব সময় চাই তাদের ন্যায্য অধিকার।
তাদের মনে প্রতিবাদের সাহস কখনোই ছিলো না। তারা দুবেলা দুমুঠো ভাতের জন্য পরিশ্রম করে থাকে।
নির্বচন এলে লাইনে দাড়িয়ে ভোট দিয়ে চলে যায়। তাদের আশা পুরনের আশ্বাসকে পুঁজি করে। কেও তাদের আশা পুরন করে, কেও বা তাদের নিজেদের নিয়ে ব্যস্ত হয়ে পরে।
