3-5 minute simple EGO ERADICATOR to shift your energy, change your mood!

Witnessing the completely off moment that I was having today, I knew I needed a shift... a change energetically... and quick! Luckily, I have an awesome tool in my toolbox and it’s just too fabulous to not share... it’s called the “Ego Eradicator”. This three-minute meditation is rooted in Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan's second sutra of the Aquarian Age and will help you quickly find your center. I’ve been using it almost daily lately and it helps me completely transform my mood and especially helps if you are trying to shake off any worries or stress... it’s also has many other benefits! While simultaneously clearing your lungs, expanding lung capacity, and increasing vital energy, it repairs the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It also strengthens the navel chakra. This energy center is associated with your self-esteem, sense of purpose, personal identity, individual will, digestion, and metabolism.31239465_365503010520167_276993165452378112_n.jpg
In this exercise, you extend the thumbs up and hold the arms up at a 60-degree angle. In yogic theory, the thumbs represent the ego. By pointing them up to the heavens, you are making a statement that you are going to go beyond the thoughts of the ego and accessing your higher self. I also like to think of the arm position as a way to become a funnel, a way to decide what to bring into my experience. Energetically, the posture is a heart and lung opener.

Here’s how to do practice:

  1. Sit tall in easy pose.
  2. Curl the fingers in to the tops of the palms, the pads beneath the fingers. Give a double thumbs ups, stretching the thumbs actively away from the fingers. Bring the arms up to 60 degrees, like a V for victory. Arms are straight as can be.
  3. Direct the eyes to the third eye, beneath the closed lids, eyes go up and in to the brow point.
  4. Begin breath of fire (a short rhythmic breath in and out of the nose). Continue for 3-5 minutes.
  5. To end, inhale deeply and hold the breath. With the breath held, draw the thumbs together overhead. When they meet, stretch the fingers long. Exhale and let the arms slowly float down through the aura.
    Enjoy the energy and sensations you generate from within! I like to refer to it as a true “Yogic Attitude Adjustment”! 😉
