Iot - Internet of Things

in #education6 years ago

I always heard about IoT - may it be in the school, social media or in the workplace. But what is really an IoT? Because if you read it in Cebuano language, it would be more complex. (Cebuano will understand what I mean. Haha)

IoT or Internet of Things

is the interconnection via the Internet of computing devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send and receive data.
"if one thing can prevent the Internet of things from transforming the way we live and work, it will be a breakdown in security".

IoT or the Internet of Things is like a network of physical devices, any vehicles (cars, buses and etc.), home appliances and other electronic devices which enables this object to send and exchange data.

Allowing an object to be sensed or controlled by a remote network across any existing network infrastructure, creating a direct integration of the things you see in the physical world into a computer-based systems, and lastly, resulting everything to be improved in its efficiency, accuracy and economically in the sense that it will reduce human intervention or shall we say, manual doing of everything is what IoT all about.

To give you an example, just like a door at home.. It could be bound with programs and tools for more security purposes. It could be placed with alarms whenever there is an intruder that will try to hook up with the doorknob, the alarms then are activated. It could also be placed with SMS configuration like when you want to get inside, all you have to do is that you have to send a text message and when it receives, it will open. Or you could place it with face recognition or scanners so that it will only open by yourself.

There are so many examples of existing IoT today. You could refer to this article if you would like.

IoT can be augmented with sensors and actuators which will help you get a direct personal data that leads the technology becomes an instance of a broader class of cyber-physical systems - encompasses technologies such as smart grids, virtual power plants, smart homes, intelligent transportation and smart cities.

With the help of IoT or Internet of Things, life could be easier, convenience, secured and practical.

Let's help promote IoT today!!

By the way, have you heard that IoT can be used in the medical industry? In my opinion it would be very innovative.

I think that this is already gradually beginning to be introduced into the medical system in some large cities and very developed countries such as America, Israel and so on. I understood this especially clearly when I read article https://orangesoft.co/blog/iot-in-healthcare. The use of IoT in medicine really has many advantages and pros.
