Shadow Dance (video). By My Year 3 Primary Class. Summer Show.

A lot of my posts are usually about outdoor things- typically adventure trips, motocross or wildlife related topics. My full time job is, a teacher. I work in an international school in Bangkok, Thailand and teach Year 3 (7-8 year olds).

Well, yesterday was the last day of the school year- summer holidays are here :), but for the last 6 weeks, my Year 3 class has been practicing for the summer show. A total of 22 students across two Year 3 classes. Myself, the students and the other Y3 teacher planned and wrote a story to tell the life of a man.

The students worked really hard at this and I am sure anyone who saw the show or watches the video can appreciate the effort the children put in.

A young boy attends his first day off school and is dropped of by his mother.
He makes friends and experiences school life.
After graduating he starts work in an office and becomes rather fond of a girl.
He accidentally bumps into her in the park and their love story begins.
He proposes to her and they get married.
Shortly after he is called to go to war.
As fighting breaks out a young child gets lost and wanders around during a gun battle.
The man saves the boy and awards him with one of his own medals for being brave.
The man is shot and injured.
He returns home and has a baby with his wife.
Their baby grows up and the man and wife get old.
The man takes a fall and is taken to hospital.
As the wife visits, the doctor enters only to recognize the aged man.
The doctor turns out to be the little boy he saved many years ago during gunfire and returns his medal.
The man recovers with the doctors help and the man and wife live happily ever after!

The story was written from a mix of ideas with the help of student input.
