I am A Mathematics teacher myself. In terms of HOTS in regarding with problem solving it really helped students to enhanced their analytical and reasoning skills. Mostly they have the difficulty of answering word problems because they also lack the learnings of the fundamentals like Algebra and Geometry which help them grasp a better understanding.
