Modern education system claimed to be more open towards everyone. The teachers in this system would be experts and have full command over their subject, and the students, on the other hand, will be more focused, self-learners, and intelligent. It also claimed that students will not be judged through their grades and their individuality and ideas will be preferred more. The concept of “what to think” would be changed into “how to think”. They still follow the old age traditions in class because they know no other way. Modern education system was supposed to be more focused on skills development of every student and teacher. But this system still seems to believe in join the school only for getting a degree at the end. There is no support and encouragement offered to teachers, how can we expect them to train young minds and make education more meaningful and purposeful for them. In today’s age, students still are confused their presence in schools and the subject they choose.

Teacher’s Cannot Train Students For Skill Development:

The modern education system claimed to be more focused on the skills development of students and teachers but the system is providing us only knowledge about things just as traditional learning system was all about. Teachers lack training so their minds are still stuck into the older traditions.

Education Still is A Luxury For Disabled & Poor People:

Modern education system talked about equality, where each and every child will be given equal preference and attention. As there is no proper way of training teachers, so, they do not know how to communicate with the disable properly. The disabled and poor people feel discriminated, as they cannot access the education, which is their basic right, and are deprived of it. It also leave negative impact over their mind.

Critical Thinking & Creativity Of Students is Suppressed By Exam System:

Modern education system also believes sin exam and grading system because of which the creativity, critical thinking and innovative imaginations of students are suppressed. They have to memorize long paragraphs in order to score higher in the exams. So, they have no time left for creativity and critical thinking. The teachers do not like to waste time in class discussions, self-research, and exploring individual talents because they have to complete the course in given credit hours. So the claim of changing the world by modern education does not seem to be fulfilled yet as it is compulsory to change minds before changing the world.

No Self-Education, Rather Machines Are Being Produced:

Modern education emphasized the idea of self-education of student. But it is seen nowhere as the students have to cram the same old books to pass their class tests and exams. As teachers do not like to waste time in reading different perceptions about a topic, so they avoid discussions, as well as writing their own ideas. The students’ knowledge is only limited to the books. They read, speak and do books just like a machine. Children spent half of the day at school, and then they have to go for tuition so no extra time is left for reading extra books.

So, the modern education system is not bad as it has challenged the traditional ideas like friendly relation between teacher and student rather teacher being authoritative, clearing concepts rather than cramming, and self-research rather than spoon feeding.
